On the Go

Yesturday, during my break at school, I met up with Glenda, who is in charge of the UH Map alcohol project. The staff from this group and students from the university, who love to write, contribute their health or wise alcohol decisions to have published for the UH "On the Go", stall street journal. She showed me the banners and projects that they have done in the past, and what they are working on at the moment. We started brainstorming ideas, and she offered for me to have my own health column for the upcoming fall! She also gave me this cute, aluminum, logo water bottle that represents the journalism group. I am so excited to collaborate, and know this will be a good experience.

These past few weeks, I been making "me time" as a part of my weekly schedule. By taking a break from my day, it really does make a difference, a happiness that only you can create within yourself.

Like I said in my first post, I have been going to the zen meditation garden a lot lately. Yesturday, I started my me time by going to the garden. Here I receive light, my stress is relieved, and I come out with positive energy. For dinner I made eggplant and egg white salad. The ingredients in this healthy meal are: 1 eggplant and 1 egg white, chopped and sauteed in a little oil, sprinkled with pepper and seasoned salt, over a fresh handful of green lettuce, and stringed carrots.

After, I took an evening walk to San Souchi beach. San Souchi is one of my favorite beaches, the jade water, tangerine sun, and cotton candy skies. It was a beautiful walk, good excercise, and very calming. I went there to watch the sunset and take photos while hip-hop beats filled my ears. Remember to always take out time for yourself, have a beautiful day! -Deanna

The Come Back

Aloha! I haven't blogged in so long, and so excited to get back into the beauty blogging World! I finally bought a new camera and decided to start a new blog! I'm excited to share the various forms of art that I enjoy doing, from doing make-up, writing poetry, cooking healthy food recipes, traveling, making recycled art, dance, decorating cupcakes, the list is endless! Almost a year ago now, I got laid off from cosmetics. During this time of unemployment, I have had so much free time to discover more about myself, and try new art. Last semester I did Hula, and last month I tried Jazz Burlesque.

I started the beginning of this semester as a transfer to the University as a full time student majoring in English with a focus in Creative Writing. Recently, I have been going the Zen Meditation Garden, also known as "Sukyo Mahikari," 3-4 times a week. Here I relax, receive positive light, and meditate with the mind, body, and spirit. I also have been getting back into two of my main passions that I hid for a while, which is spoken word and make-up artistry. Lately I have been so inspired, that I dusted off my journals and cleaned my make-up brushes, to prepare for my come back

feel free to follow me as my journey flows,
Deanna
